Although threatened to retire permanently as an actor, script
Gran Torino seduced him while Clint Eastwood decided to make another movie. As a result we have a great movie where Eastwood proves once again that it works within and behind the screen.
Walt Kowalski is a retired Korean War veteran, surly, racist and extremely conservative, who lives in a small neighborhood which, unfortunately for him, begins to fill Hmong immigrants. His greatest asset is a 73 Gran Torino, which jealously guards in his garage. After the loss of his wife, and his family indifferent to him given his difficult character, Waltz lives in isolation at home until a series of events will take you to interact with neighbors Hmong, and get into enough trouble.
With a dash of style, one could expect a typical film sensibilera and trite, however
Gran Torino is not. Eastwood's performance is sublime throughout the film. Neither side is wrong, and can say that they are all beginners. The story is modestly emotional, without being recharged, it is easy to make error in this type of film. They may be things that have already been told a thousand times, but is a delight to see Eastwood doing so well, ... and growl! .
