"From Paris With Love", action and humor in the French capital

Go ahead I was not expecting much from this film. Reading from her Internet site, whose name I will keep, seems to be an attempt to see a film. Nothing is further from the truth. Mind you, I'm not saying "From Paris With Love" ( From Paris with Love , 2010 ) is a masterpiece, but is neither meant to be. Simply it is another Luc Besson production and Corp Europe, which despite its many detractors, continues to show that in Europe (well, more in France) can be made effective action films and entertaining, and in turn can compete with that comes from Hollywood.

The first 20 minutes are the most sedate and boring film. We are introduced to James Reece (Jonathan Rhys Meyers ) who works for the American ambassador to France. Reece occasionally does small favors for the CIA such as changing a license plate or put a hidden microphone. But he wants is more action and that is what you get when you meet Charlie Wax, played by John Travolta that has a great time. Wax is a CIA agent with unorthodox methods and trigger-happy. Together they will carry out the mission entrusted to them.

We face a very funny buddy movie with a loose and histrionic John Travolta is the best of the tape (care homage to "Pulp Fiction "). Jonathan Rhys Meyers , like his character, ranging from less than on the tape: it starts boring, until little by little seems to have spread the enthusiasm that follows Travolta.

Its director Pierre Morel is responsible for "District 13" and Venganza , both produced by Besson . Morel proved once more that knows film more than effective action scenes, especially the multiple shootings and explosions. We certainly have one of the most promising directors in the genre. So far it seems that Hollywood has already knocked on his door and entrusted the remake of "Dune" .

addition, the film boasts is a total irreverence and political incorrectness. It's something to be welcomed, in these times we live in, as politically incorrect (too tell me), but certainly there are people who do not sit too well the fact that the villains are in the Muslim and Chinese. Others can simply enjoy a good action movie, full of gunfire and explosions, which is important.

best: Travolta and staged by Pierre Morel
Worst: takes a while to start
