How To Build A Strong Spaghetti Bridge

Hunters Blood "Steven Seagal against vampires, zombies

After a failed first attempt with the already mentioned "strike team" to face an enemy supernatural Steven Seagal get it now "Blood Hunters" ( Against the Dark , 2009). If at that time, were to be bloodthirsty extraterrestrials in the film in question, his enemies are a hybrid of vampires and zombies. And of course, like most recent films Seagal , this is a direct to DVD film.

We are in a near future most people have been infected by a virus that turns creatures carriers in a thirsty (and hungry) of blood. A group of hunters led by Tao ( Seagal) is dedicated to ending those infected. Meanwhile, in an abandoned hospital, a group of survivors trying to escape the infected, so the team will go to his aid Tao. For its part, the military plans to bomb the place.

The film starts well but goes more or less and it becomes boring and repetitive, or we care who lives or dies, and one gets the feeling that all you see is the characters mime the hospital corridors. Maybe if the movie had focused on the hunting party commanded by Steven Seagal surely would have been more entertaining. Instead, it focuses on the hospital survivors, who manage as they can to escape the attacks of those infected, although none of them armed. The unarmed and have survived so far is one of many mysteries that contains the script.

Regarding the group of hunters formed by Steven Seagal , Tanoai Reed (cousin and occasional double Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson ), and two other girls who have little relevance: do not even have dialogue in the film and the characters actually appear in the credits as Assistant Assistant 1 and 2 ... A Seagal is seen very little in the film. His appearances are sporadic but always with a katana in hand, not that too much effort on fighting. For its part the Hawaiian Tanoai Reed is the most noteworthy, mostly because it is the only one who walks with the face of boredom with the film.

Then we have the military where we met a couple of familiar faces such as Linden Ashby (Johnny Cage in "Mortal Kombat" ) and Keith David ( "Pitch Black" ). Seem taken from another movie because they do not interact with other players, even at the end. Moreover, one can not understand why such a hurry to bomb the hospital at dawn, because the infected are affected by sunlight. The most logical thing would be before dark, but hey, another mystery of the script.

For staging, we should not emphasize too much the debut of cinematographer Richard Crude . The action scenes, despite including swords, no guts and are repetitive. Another fact to realize the film before we're in, is that the exterior shots of the hospital are series "Kingdom Hospital " by Stephen King .

short, a film of series B, or rather, Z series, which is not the worst of the films of Steven Seagal , but may well save your viewing.

Best : Reed Tanoai
worst : is boring
